How it works

Saudi nationals: pension 9% employee + 9% employer, SANED unemployment 0.75% each, occupational hazards 2% employer. Expatriates: only the 2% occupational hazards, paid by the employer. Nationals joining the workforce from July 2024 see rates rise gradually to 11% each.

Formula

Employee (Saudi) = wage × 9.75%
Employer (Saudi) = wage × 11.75%
Employer (expat) = wage × 2%

Worked example

SAR 12,000 wage, Saudi national: employee SAR 1,170, employer SAR 1,410, total SAR 2,580 a month.
