How it works

Numbers are drawn uniformly from the integer range using the browser's random generator. With "no repeats" the draw is without replacement — suitable for raffles and selecting a sample.

Formula

n = min + floor(random() × (max − min + 1))

Worked example

5 unique numbers from 1–100: e.g. 7, 23, 41, 68, 92.

Frequently asked questions

Is it truly random?

Pseudo-random, statistically uniform and unpredictable enough for games and draws; for lotteries with money at stake use a certified system, for cryptography use the password generator's secure RNG.

Can I pick lottery numbers?

Set 1–59 (UK Lotto) or 1–49 and 6 numbers with no repeats. Your odds are the same as any other combination.

How do I pick a winner from a list?

Number your entries 1–N and draw one number from 1 to N.
