Breakdown
How it works
Law 1 of 2022 raised the contributory base to basic salary plus social and housing allowances (capped at QAR 100,000) and set contributions at 7% from the employee and 14% from the employer. Pension accrues at 5% of the contributory salary per year, to a maximum of 100% after 20 years, payable from age 50 for Qataris in the private sector.
Formula
Worked example
QAR 15,000 basic + 3,000 social + 6,000 housing = 24,000: employee QAR 1,680, employer QAR 3,360.
