How it works

Kahramaa bills electricity in slabs (QAR 0.08 per kWh up to 2,000, rising to 0.13 above 15,000) and water per cubic metre in rising slabs. Villas with pools and district cooling can see summer bills of QAR 2,000+; a two-bedroom apartment typically QAR 300–600.

Formula

Electricity = Σ slab kWh × rate
Water = Σ slab m³ × rate

Worked example

1,500 kWh and 25 m³: electricity QAR 120 + water QAR 115 ≈ QAR 235.

Frequently asked questions

Are tariffs the same for nationals?

No — Qataris receive free electricity and water for their primary residence within consumption limits (Tarsheed programme).

Is cooling included?

Only if your building uses in-unit AC on your meter. Many towers bill district cooling separately (Qatar Cool, Marafeq) at QAR 200–800 a month.

How accurate is this?

An estimate using published slab tariffs; check km.qa for the current schedule and your bill for the exact slab structure.
